The options when it comes to hair color are endless but no matter what shade you go for, they tend to fade sooner then later. We created a little mood bord with some of our favourite shades right now plus some pointers on how to keep your hair color from fading!
The bright blonde
Ever since Marilyn Monroe, the blonde attempts have been overwhelming. Unfortunately, as most blondes can tell you, this bright shade has a way of going brassy quickly. The key is to start using a toning blonde shampoo and conditioner once a week right after your salon visit. AG Hair has a really good set of silver shampoo and conditioner that will keep the brass away.
The blonde idol
If you are more of a "one shampoo-kind of girl" and wants to maintain a cold blonde shade like this one, try Redken's Blonde Idol that is a sulfate-free shampoo that gently cleanses your hair while maintaining the bright blonde shade.
Brown + babylights
It's not just blonde hair that needs special care, all colored or highlighted hair should use a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner to maintain a healthy color. Joico's Color Endure Kit includes a shampoo and conditioner that increases color longevity and reduces tonal change. Major bonus that it only costs $19,99 (!) and comes with a gold dust shimmer finishing spray as well.
This super soft and shiny shade (made by this talented fella!) requires some maintenance as well. Revlon's Uniq One All in One Hair Treatment makes hair smooth, shiny and frizz free. It also contains UVA and UVB filters that protects hair from sun damage as well as protect your hair color.
Style & Protect
Heat styling and too much wear and tear is a big enemy when it comes to hair color protection. If you style your hair often, make sure to use styling products for colored hair. Pureology's Hydrate Kit comes with a hair spray and multi-tasking beautifier that style your hair while looking out for your color.
Colored hair need help recovering from the damage of bleaching and a deep red shade like this needs some extra love. The Moroccanoil line is made for colored hair and their Intense Hydrating Mask is perfect for thirsty strands!
The grey you want
We've seen a lot of grey and pastel colors these last years and no matter if you create these shades of your own or go to the salon, you might need to refresh them in between. Like with every other color, it is important to use shampoo and conditioner made for colored hair but with these shades you might want to put in a toning color every once and a while. Joico Color Intensity comes in a lot of fun colors, like Titanium for the grey-lovers, and can be used as a fun temporary color change or to intensify your permanent color.
